Pike River Starfest
From Wednesday, May 20 2020
To Sunday, May 24 2020

The Pike River Starfest is a full go this year.  Even though the pandemic is still going, I feel we can still do an event of this nature.  With the state park system and county park systems with camping open, along with golf courses, fishing season and ATV trails open in Marinette County, I feel we can have this starfest safely.  I expect that everyone abide by the social distancing and other recommended CDC guidelines while here on site.  Please do not attend if feeling ill at all.  With astronomy equipment setup I never saw anyone being within 6 feet of another person anyway. The Pike River Starfest has the darkest skies for any star party in the state.

With that said, the dates for the event will be Wednesday, May 20th thru Sunday May 24th.  The price is $10.00 per night, per person.  I will have a porta-pottie available with a sanitary hand wash station.  There will anti-bacteria spray and sanitized hand wipes available also.  I do expect everyone to keep the facilities sanitized after each use. Power will be available for battery charging if needed.  The starfest is located at N14720 US Hwy 141, Amberg,  Wi. 54102.

The price includes the cost of the sanitation facilities, midnight snacks, power, use of grills, hot plates, camp stoves, coffee, hot chocolate. I have 3 picnic tables for use. Please bring your own food and drinks.  Like always, I will have adult beverages available with a donation.  Since the restaurant and bar are closed, there are some restaurants that are selling food at certain hours of the day.  They are about 8 miles away.  I will supply water and soap for dishes with tubs and clean towels.

I have approximately 30 camp sites available but will limit to 20 campers and tents due to distancing.  Please dress warm for the nights since the temperatures at night more than likely be in the 40’s.

This will be a first come first serve basis.  It is open to everyone.  If you sign up, I do require full payment whether you come or not.  I need to purchase food for the event.  Other clubs will also be invited.  With the cost, I would like to have anyone signing up to be here more than 2 or more nights please.

I have some yard games for during the day, a full library of astronomy books, tv with a dvd player, and there are also waterfall tours to take.  The use of my heated office and chairs are available.  If cloudy, we can have a campfire.  If repairs are needed, I will be available. If you want to register, please send me an e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or call me at (920) 676-6363. Please let me know what days you will be attending and how many people in your group.  If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask.

Please send out to all club members.

Hope to see you here.
