Chasing Aurora Beyond the 45th Parallel

Join the Founder of the Michigan Aurora Chasers and author of the new book “Beyond the 45th Parallel: The Beginner’s Guide to Chasing Aurora in the Mid-latitudes” for a talk on the intricacies of the Northern Lights, Aurora Chasing, and predicting Space Weather that creates vivid, dancing skies on Earth. She will introduce you to Aurora Forecasting, share accounts of catching the Aurora in the Great Lakes region, and lead you to the Northern Lights. Melissa has helped thousands of people catch the Aurora for the first time.

About us

NEWSTAR is a member society of the  Astronomical League.  We are dedicated to promoting amateur astronomy.  Our informal meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month at 7:00 PM in a classroom or the Barlow Planetarium – University of Wisconsin Oshkosh – Fox Valley (map) in Menasha, Wisconsin.
